Our Board
Midlothian Sure Start is committed to supporting families to have a voice in our strategic direction. As such, 50% of places on our Board are held for families who have used, or are using, our services – one from each Family Learning Centre.
The Board meets quarterly to guide the work that we do.
They are responsible for the overall governance of the Organisation – they set the strategic priorities and ensure that our services work towards these. They monitor the performance of the Organisation, ensuring that we provide high quality services that meet the requirements of our funders and registering bodies.
People on our Board are called Directors and they all volunteer their time to support Midlothian Sure Start to Build Best Beginnings.
Many also participate in subgroups of the Board, participate in Recruitment of new staff, attend Training Days and other Events and attend our AGM.
Midlothian Sure Start and our Board of Directors function within the legal requirements set out by the Office of the Scottish Regulator (OSCR).
